What I mean is we need to learn to make these things, instead of being dependent on other people to make it for us. We have been using tools made my other people. We must know how to make tools at least in our area of interest.

Definetly,we must atleast have the ability/understanding to make these tools. However,if there is a tool already capable of doing what you need, then we can use that and mod it as the need arises. No point in re-inventing the wheel
